Thunderstorms, some heavy this evening, then skies turning partly cloudy after midnight. Low 72F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 100%.

On June 16, 2022, 2022, Mrs. Cathy Ellis, owner-operator of Dream FIeld Farms in Fitzpatrick, Alabama graciously hosted the members of the Chunnenuggee Garden Club. Mrs. Ellis, a member of the club, greeted the group and escorted them to the bridal dressing cabin. Once everyone had arrived Cathy served a scrumptious lunch of hamburgers with purple french fries. Am keeping with the farm to table concept; everything but the bun and condiments was sourced from the farm.

After lunch the group loaded up into vehicles for a tour of the farm. Taking advantage of modern technology like bluetooth and speaker phones, everyone was able to hear out guide while enjoying another marvel, the air conditioner.

As we drove along the farms first roads we saw, the lavender field clotted with zinnias, the herb garden, greenhouse that housed among other things citrus trees, the farms vegetable and cutting gardens and the english garden, a favorite of both brides and photographers.

Then there were the rental cabins, two that sleep twelve and two that sleep eight, just perfect for those out of town guest or just a nice get away for the family.

What would a farm be without animals? Well, Dream Field Farms, has those too. We saw cows, goats, chickens, and even a llama. My favorite was the chicken coop and chicken run attached to a tractor. The chickens are true free range while still protected from predators.

Dream Field Farms is such a special place not only for weddings but I could see a big ol family reunion there with the cabins, air conditioned venue, plenty of room for the kids to play and oh, did I mention, they even have a pool.
